Doi Chong National Park covers an area of approximately 207,500 rai, located in Sop Prap District, Thoen District, Mae Phrik District, Lampang, and Li District, Lamphun Province. If passing along National Highway No. 106 at the junction between Thoen District, Lampang and Li District, Lamphun Province, travelers will have the opportunity to admire the deciduous dipterocarp forest that are densely covered mixed forests on both sides of the road. Especially in late winter, this forest will be even more beautiful; with the trees changing their color before dropping their leaves in the dry season. This forest is one of the most intact deciduous forests which are wide plain. There is pine forests scattered in groups, and there are many cliffs as the viewpoint. You can see the scenery of both the sun rises from the horizon in the morning, and the sunset behind the horizon in the evening In addition, Doi Chong also has many orchids especially the Fah Mui orchids. As of which, it has the beautiful color that is different from the Pha Mui orchids in other areas. It will bloom during October - January. From the National Park Office, there is a walking path up to the top of Doi Chong for about 7 kilometers. The condition of the route is quite steep. And it's about half a day's walk. Interested persons must contact the staff to help guide the way. The top of Doi Chong is the highest mountain, and it used to be a telecommunication station of the Air Force before. But, after the Air Force built the radar station at the top of Doi Inthanon, the station here has therefore been abandoned; and the Department of National Parks has come to take care of instead, and there will be staff on duty every day. From the ridge looking down to see the vast rice fields of Amphoe Sop Prap and Amphoe Ko Kha. The way up and down are different: The way down is very steep and the ground is filled with small pebbles. The hike takes more than 5 hours on foot. The way down will pass through San Pa Kia where two-leaf pines and three-leaf pines grow denser than other areas; it is suitable for camping
